In a collaboration working with UNDP Egypt, as part of participating in the 16 days of activism, we accepted the challenge to arrange ‘Sailing Boats against gender-based violence (GBV)’ campaign and the launch ceremony within 3 days.

Liaising with UNDP team we received the 16 key messages against GBV and printed them on 16 boats’ sails to have them ready for the launch ceremony which took place on the 21st of November at the Embassy of Sweden in Cairo, we had the branded boats at the shore of the embassy and mock ups of them within the venue to celebrate the launch of the campaign, we also provided LED Screen, sound system, light system, stage, carpets and seating.

The event was attended by H.E. Dr. Maya Morsy, President of the National Council for Women; H.E. Jan Thesleff, Ambassador of Sweden to Egypt and Ms. Randa Aboul-Hosn, Resident Representative of the UNDP in Egypt along with UN personnel and media, the campaign was launched by having the boats to set sail in the Nile through Cairo within the 16 days of activism to raise awareness on various issues relating to women.
